Home / Your Hearing
The latest studies suggest that 1 in 8 of us are experiencing some form of hearing loss in the US. When you compare that number to the small percentage of people that actually get their hearing tested, you can see why I’m so passionate about raising awareness for healthy hearing.
One of the biggest challenges I’ve faced throughout my career is the length of time patients take before seeing a specialist. On average, a person waits seven years to have their hearing tested by a professional. During this period, their issue has often worsened.
This means when I finally see a patient, we often have a much larger challenge on our hands. If they’d visited us when experiencing their first signs of hearing loss, the solution would have been much simpler.
If you’re over the age of 55 or have experienced any signs of a hearing loss, my advice is to schedule a hearing assessment as soon as possible, even if it’s just as a precaution.
It’s quick, non-invasive, and you receive the results right away.
Hearing loss is not a sign that you’re broken. Instead, it is a sign that you have lived an experience-rich life that your ears have struggled to keep up with.
In the same way that driving a car fast will gradually erode the tires, the more that your ears experience, the more likely that you’ll need some assistance to continue to bring your differences to the world.
Hearing assessments are simple, quick, non-invasive, and allow you to get a clear understanding of any hearing challenges that you may be experiencing. Once done, you can then be in a much more educated position to understand your options.
If you have any concerns about your hearing or a loved one’s hearing, then I strongly encourage you to have a hearing assessment.
Although hearing technology is only part of the equation of achieving better hearing, it is the part that creates the most resistance and stops many people from moving forward.
That’s because many of us have a stigma toward hearing aids as we remember the large, clunky devices from yesteryear that our grandparents or parents once wore.
The good news is that the stigma has drastically changed over recent years, with new hearing technology now being small, discreet, and incredibly powerful. In fact, it’s likely that you have a friend, loved one, or colleague that is a hearing aid wearer and you have never even noticed.
As part of my “All Ears Club” – you qualify for discounted hearing technology, allowing you to be fitted with the latest and greatest technology for a significant savings.
Having worked in busy ENT environments with limited appointment times and a busy schedule for a number of years, I always thought that there was a better way.
I didn’t feel like I could give patients the time and attention they required, and I always thought the model of charging large fees up front for bundled hearing technology and service was confusing.
That’s why I decided to launch my “All Ears Club.”
This allows members to receive “All Inclusive” advanced hearing care with everything that they could possibly need in a highly convenient way in exchange for an affordable annual fee.
This then qualifies members for significant savings on hearing technology and allows them to be part of a “club” that receives the most personalized hearing care throughout Santa Cruz, Scotts Valley, Capitola, Aptos, and Monterey.
